The Stoning of Saint Étienne

SYNOPSIS

Étienne is an elderly, sick man who lives surrounded by all kinds of objects he has accumulated over time. These are memories of a tragic past that he does not want to forget. His daily solitude, however, is threatened by the harassment (mobbing) from Jeanne, the owner of the apartment where he lives, who, together with the neighbors and social services, aims to evict him from his home. On the other hand, Étienne has no intention of leaving his apartment, as he is convinced that he is living with the presence of his deceased wife and daughter. A domestic accident leaves Étienne injured in his home. With his last strength, he tries to ask for help, but he only discovers the inhumanity of those around him.
